Is anyone good at number sequences and can complete the following?

What is the missing value in the following sequence?

2616, 3, 11, 10850, ________, 25, 2038

I've been thinking about this on and off all day (instead of working :p ), and I still can't work it out.

Ice, do you have the answer to it?

:D No I don't, a friend of mine asked me to have a look at it as she had no idea, but I couldn't help - so thought I'd post it here to see if anyone else knew :)

And I thought I was good at math! Geez, that's hard! Now I'll be working on it all night. Maybe I'll get the answer around midnight. :(

My dad looked at it and got it in two seconds! It makes me so mad! He seems to think it's seven.

Still don't get it. :(

So would 2,616 become BFAF? But then what about the zeros in the other numbers? What letters do they represent?

I've tried Roman Numerals as well, but I'm probably getting those all wrong. :p
