To comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, The Book Forum does not allow members who are younger than 13yrs to signup for site membership.
We used to ask people for their date of birth to verify their age. This was causing some confusion for new members wanting to signup, as this information is often treated as confidential and people do not necessarily feel comfortable entering it online.
We have now changed our membership signup so that when you agree to the terms and conditions, you also acknowledge that you are older than 13yrs. We no longer ask you for your date of birth.
If any existing member is younger than 13yrs, please ask your parent or guardian to contact us immediately so that we can discuss your continued membership.
