Hi Everyone!

I'm new here. Love to read new things....all sorts of subjects. Looking to find more things to read about!

Interests

Hi Mr A

I'm actually interested in a lot of different things...fiction and non-fiction. I love Stephen King, James Patterson, and Dennis Lehane is a newfound favorite. I love bios too. Poetry is sometimes tough for me to get through though. I have a few books by Kerouac (spelling?), and started one of them, but he's proving to be a little tough for me. I put it down and am planning on trying again later.

I have two really cool books...one is "500 Must Read Books" or something like that, and the other is the "1001 Books To Read Before You Die." There are a lot of classics in there. I plan on reading every single one....I hope I have enough time to do so.

How about yourself? Do you have a certain genre you are specifically interested in?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Wow, you're certainly a whole lot more dedicated to completion than I am. I stick with mysteries, occasional thriller, science fiction....mostly genre stuff come to think of it. Classics are all right, but most of them just don't hold my interest these days. What's your favorite classic?

That's a tough one. I like reading "classic" novels just to familiarize myself with how literature has developed, etc. However, it is definitely not my favorite genre. I did enjoy Frankenstein, and Sense & Sensibility was okay. Basically, I guess I don't quite yet have a detailed or completely educated opinion, haha. Do you like Dennis Lehane's books?

Welcome.

Best of luck with that and on that note a recommendation.

Irvine Welsh has a short story called Snuff and it's about what happens to a guy when he fulfills his ambition on watching every movie featured in Halliwells Film Guide... You'll find it in his story collection The Acid House.

Dennis Lehane is the author of Mystic River and Shutter Island, which you may recognize in movie form. His books are very well. Definitely check him out!

Ha, Shutter Island was a movie I distinctly remember avoiding. Creepy things and all that. I may try it someday. Thanks for the recommendation.

I haven't watched Shutter Island either. I usually find that I enjoy the books better, anyway. As far as the novel is concerned, it's pretty awesome. One of those stories that makes you think...
