Old Norse Mythology

Hello

I'm very new here, so I hope I'm doing this right!

Following on from the Greek Mythology thread, I was wondering if anyone here shared my passion for viking tales? I've read a few books (eg Snorri Edda) and would love an excuse to study them again.

Any takers? Favourite parts from mythology you'd like to share?

I really enjoyed the "Boreal Moon" series by Julian May which is epic fantasy rather than historical fiction, but is nonetheless rooted in the Viking Milieu.

Tolkien of course has a lot of Viking / Norse elements in Lord of the Rings:

I like almost any story with Loki as the instigator. The building of the walls of Asgard; Loki's prank of cutting off Sif's hair leading to a wager with Brokkr.
Also, Loki and Thor's adventure with Utgarda-Loki and the theft of Thor's hammer.

Loki is pretty awesome. always getting up to mischief. I think either he or Odin are my favourites, although Odin is the boss, so. I like how they explain the sun rising and falling. To me, that makes perfect sense
