Patricia Highsmith

I'm new to the forum, so I don't know if anyone's had Patricia Highsmith up here as their favorite author before.

I've started reading through all of her novels for the third time, and I've come to the conclusion that she's my favourite author. I find it difficult to believe that she isn't better known, or better respected.

I've read her Ripley series of 5, and loved it, but nothing beyond that. Well, I started one other, and somehow put it down. Should look for it again.

Definitely. I really like The Talented Mr Ripley, and I like the rest of the series also, but I think some of her other books are much better.

I would suggest Deep Water, This Sweet Sickness, The Cry of the Owl or Small g: A Summer Idyll.
