Dusty Road

Down that dusty road Remembrance
Seeming like yesterday
When I caught motes of sunlight
It was
I, so close to you
I, so far from me
Painfully too far between
Now
Distant stars hold cold and fast in the night
Sing

It's the harmonics of the thing
Sad songs
And I can only cry a million tears
And count them all
Swallow me whole
In oceans of night
Slip silent into
Those deep dark waters
That might
Just
Might
Allow no more light
for a sweet surrender
I would not mind
