This was a really great novel but it si pretty long. However, it was sointeresting I read it pretty quickly. It is basically about 3 people: a Japanese woman sold by her father to a brothel, a japanese army officer and an American diplomat. The story takes place mostly in shanghai, and it covers the time from before WWll to the eighties. The Japanese woman becomes head of a big dress making company. it has a lot of action but also is very good history wise and I think women will enjoy the romantic stories also.
