Sahara - the new Dirk Pitt movie

Sahara is going to be the new Dirk Pitt movie, set for release next year and produced by Crusader Entertainment. Author Clive Cussler gets script, casting and director approval.

Here is the cast so far:-

Dirk Pitt - Matthew McConaughey
Al Giordino - Steve Zahn
Eva Rojas - Penelope Cruz

So, what do all you Cussler fans think?

Matthew McConaughey!!?? He wouldnt exactly be my first choice for Pitt but there you go Still, its good another one is going to be adapted after all these years Especially good that Cussler has maintained creative control! I wonder if he's going to cast himself in the role of .... himself!!

I think they wanted Hugh Jackman as Pitt, but he was unavailable.

It looks like Cussler had a big say in the casting.

I always pictured Russel Crowe as dirk pitt for some reason.

Yeah, wasn't Pitt older than McConaughey and Jackson? Maybe it's just me...
