Sandra Cisneros: The House On Mango Street

The House on Mango Street is THE most popular book for the girls that I teach. This has been one of the best books in regards to discussing challenges a person faces in growing up, not to mention their own backgrounds and experiences.

Anyone else read this? Do give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I read it last year. Not my most favorite book but it wasn't bad.

I read in when I was in 10th grade and not only did I enjoy it but it opened my mind up more about the Hispanic culture. I know I can't know it by just reading a book, but I didn't know that they went through experiences like that.
