I know this is a long shot.
the book was published before 1992/3. hardcover. kinda thick.
i was young then, so i can only vaguely recall the book. all i remember was that it was a children's book on the detective/whodunnit genre. somewhere along the lines of solving some kind of mystery or murder of somesorts.
anyway. towards the end of the book, the protagonist/detective talks to himself saying something along the lines of
"he knew that i knew about him knowing, but what he didn't know.."
well. it's been bugging me. hope anyone could help. ur time and kindness is much appreciated.
