Hey everyone.. I'm looking for the name of a childrens novel. I guess this might be more for teens? i cant quite remember
All I can tell you is what i Vaguely remember about this book.
THis story is about a boy who's father gets diagnosed with cancer and eventually dies. The father and son were avid bird watchers and before the father died he gave his son a small (wooden?) bird which the boy called hoot.
It tells about how the boys dealing with his fathers death and eventualy him his mother and his sister have to move to an apartment where a girl whom the boy befriended lives with her grandfather.
This is really bugging me.. so i hope somone can recall it
