I have been searching for a book I read a few years ago, but since I can't remember title or author I'm having trouble. It's a romance so maybe someone can help. It takes place during a war (I think Vietnam) and it is about a nurse who meets a man in the war. They have an affair but he is married to someone back in the States. He is going to divorce her but he is well known and his family is in politics so he never does. She ends up marrying a doctor who she worked with in the war. He stays married and becomes a senator. At the end of the book, they meet at the opening of the War Memorial. He is with his wife and children and she is with her husband and children.
