  • "Sid & Nancy" Critterion Collection - Secondary Audio Commentary with the filmmakers and actors.
  • "Big Trouble In Little China" A quirky commentary for a quirky film -- Kurt Russell smoking cigarettes, drinking beer, and talking about how much fun he had working on this film with John Carpenter.
  • "True Romance" -- The director's cut. Completely changes the tone and characterization of the film.
  • Blade Runner -- The Director's Cut. The one that started it all, and shows what "Director's Cuts" were intended to be.

Anyone else know of any gems out there?

the director's cuts in blade runner were as meaningless as they were in george lucas' 1997 version of star wars. the voiceover is cut out, instead deckard has a dream about a unicorn that's supposed to make him realize he's a replicant--which makes no sense, because the cops would've known he was a replicant the whole time--and the ending is gone as well. maybe the criterion people will release the unrated version.

I hated that voice-over gimmick and was glad to see it gone. Plus, I felt the whole movie flowed better in the director's version than the film originally released. And the unicorns meant extra scenes with Edward James Olmos, who was as essential to that film as Claude Reins was to "Casablanca" -- captivating in frame.
