I just finished reading "Up Country" by Nelson Demille. It was one of the best books I've read in a loooong time.
Being both a member of the US Military currently and a fan of history I had a real appreciation for this book.
It's also jump started quite an interest in Vietnam for me. I'm currently planning a trip with some of my fellow Soldiers there in about 6 months.
What I'm wondering is, do any of you have suggestions for further reading on this type of subject? I'm looking for a book about Vietnam, but similiar to this (i.e. not a non-fiction bore or an out-right war novel).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
