William Shakespeare: Did he write his plays?

Interesting, but I'm looking for opinions from people here. In the Kilpatrick article, he says he thinks DeVere was a terrible poet, so he doubts it was DeVere. I have often wondered how Shakespeare, being a relatively poor English guy, could have written about Italians unless he talked to people who had been to Italy and told him stories that gave him ideas.
He was NOT a "relatively poor English guy". His father was an Alderman (a municipal official of some standing and a successful glove maker (gloves being very expensive were mainly the prerogative of the rich) and his mother was the daughter of an affluent landowning farmer so he in no means came from a poor family. Its clear from his writing and his research into existing stories that he was well educated.

It amuses me that you prefer the opinions of persons on a forum to specialists who have studied the work in detail over many years.

For goodness sake! "Shakespeare in Love" is Hollywood fiction. It is not, neither does it's writers claim it to be, an primary (or even secondary!) historical source.
If you read what she posted later in this thread, you would know that it was meant as a joke... back in 2005. ;)

Every one is entitled to express their opinions, preferably politely, that is what forums are all about.
