Lee Child: Killing Floor

Reacher's size and appearence is very much the point in the novels.
To cast Cruise in the part was just plain silly.
I agree. In the books, Reacher's physical appearance is often pivotal in how other characters respond/react to him. Do they back down and run? Do they get all macho and escalate a confrontation? Do they dismiss him as a thug? These all have to do with his physical appearance. Not a small point.

I would have been fine with the Tom Cruise movie if he wasn't supposed to be playing Reacher.

In reality a good big one beats a good smaller one every single time.
I am six feet one and do weight training, but have not practised C&R for some time and would not trust myself in a three man unlock any more.
I could put Cruise down with one hand tied behind my back though.
It was the biggest piece of miscasting since Jimmy Steward was the pilot in Flight of the Phoenix.

He would make a superb Virgil Tracy!!!!
