What layout software are publishers using now?

I've noticed that more independent publishers and self-published authors seem to be moving away from Adobe products.

For those involved in book publishing, magazine production, or ebook creation, what software are you currently using for page layout and publishing?

Are there any alternatives that you've found particularly reliable for professional work?

I'd love to hear what tools people are using and why they prefer them.

Hello, Florence. I let Draft2Digital handle that for me. They have software that converts an author's work to e-book and/or print editions.

Thanks for sharing that. Draft2Digital definitely seems popular among self-published authors who want to simplify ebook and print distribution.

Do you know whether they handle the actual page layout and formatting internally, or do they rely on software like InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or something similar behind the scenes?

I'm curious because I'm seeing more discussion around alternatives to Adobe products, especially among independent publishers and small presses.

Sorry, but I don't know D2D's specifications. I'd suggest getting in touch with them.
