I was planning on buying Midshipman's Hope at the time I made my last post on this thread, but I didn't get around to buying it until today. I hope it doesn't take me four months to start rereading it.:D
If it is a book I am really interested in, I will sound out all the words in my head, and that takes longer. If I just want to get through the book, I will put my finger at the top of the page, and as I lower my finger down the page, I will look at each line and let my brain take in the whole...

I did like The Door Into Summer. Now I am reading Curious Notions by Harry Turtledove. In that book, earth has developed a machine that make travel possible between timelines. The story takes place in a timeline where Germany won WWI.
I listen to a lot of books on audiotape. The Five People You Meet in Heaven is now my favorite audiotape book. The narrator's voice was a perfect fit, there was background music and sound effects at just the right times. I loved it.
