Was thinking that.... but all the books I got from here are weirdly formatted... I wish I weren't so anal about how it looks on my Nook. But I'll give her a shot, thanks. :)

Alright, so I'm in a  mood so I've been reading my way through my library. However, I found I'm wanting more books like those written by Sarah Addison Allen. If any of you know any good ones, please let me know. In case no ones knows, Allen has written : Garden Spells; The Girl Who...

JK Rowling writing an adult book

Harry Potter is still classified as young adult... Young people in adult situations doesn't necessarily mean it's a book for adults. Initially it was closer to the children's genre, but edged it's way into YA because they grew up.

Where are you? (in the book you are reading) - please read 1st post

    Recently Finished

Children of the Mind - Orson Scott Card Despite most people hating Card and his sequels, I rather liked this. Everyone seems to forget that Ender's Game was supposed to be a stand-alone book. Therefore making Speaker of the Dead a new book in a new story arch. -shakes head-

    Why we re-read books

I rarely, very very rarely, re-read a book. The Myst Trilogy, Harry Potter, and Twilight (yes I'm admitting to this), HHGTTG are the only few I have successfully re-read. Anything else, I get a few pages in and put it back down cause the entire story comes rushing back at me. I suppose this...

I'm with you! It almost makes me sad when I realize that I've been stuck in a certain genre too long. So many books are being published that I never hear about!

    Hiya

It's not really the class, it's the professor. And usually the older ones. For instance, my astronomy class is 3 hours long. The first hour and a half he rambles about college announcements, and other things, running in and out of the classroom to get stuff; 30 minutes for the quiz; and then an...

    the best fantasy books

I wouldn't necessarily say J.K. is the master, either. Try Ursula K. Le Guin. She has a fantasy series that goes back to the 60s but it's written well. I mean the woman is 82 years old and still writing. She must be doing something right.

    Science Fiction

So, I'm taking this Sci-fi Lit class and honestly, I realized I'm more drawn to the aspects of Soft Science Fiction. Soft SF is basically anything that surrounds psychology, sociology, fear of the unknown. So a story could take place in space, on an unknown planet, or something like in Ender's...

    Hiya

I write mostly during my classes when I can't read. I know what you're thinking, I'm supposed to be paying attention, but a lot of my professors ramble about non-essential classroom stuff (this happens a lot) so I get at least an hour and a half of writing time. But I'll see about reviews. I...

    Hello...

I think one of the differences is the nook has that weird paper touch screen and the kindle is not as high contrast. I'm not sure, I haven't caught up with all the new updates and what not.
