What do you think of the Kindle?

The only place that I read that's not well lit is my bedroom. But thats why I bought a lamp, and the lamp helps me read AND not bump into things! :D

Poll: How old is the average reader on this Forum?

Well, it looks like the 20 somethings are in the lead, but we only have 28 votes right now. There has got to be more active users than that!

What do you think of the Kindle?

I completely agree with the price and the DRM issues, but the back-lit screen is the reason that computer screens give you eye strain. These book readers are designed to simulate the printed page. Besides, you don't read in the dark now. Why would you want to start?:D

Poll: How old is the average reader on this Forum?

A comment was made on another thread about younger people not reading anymore. So I thought we could get an idea by sampling the users on this forum.:)

What do you think of the Kindle?

From what I see in the Amazon reviews I still think it's a great device. I REALLY don't like the DRM or the proprietary e-book format. (I can get around that) But I will wait until the next generation and a price drop before I buy.

I love the Dresden Files series!!

Thanks Anamnesis, I had heard that about Hamilton's vampire series. Thats why I have been avoiding it. Its kind of annoying when I do a search for vampire related books on amazon or B&N, the results are always 99% Hamilton's erotic series.

    what entices you to purchase?

I agree, Mister B. Gone has very unique cover art but it is turning out to be a mediocre story. I haven't finished it yet but with only 50ish pages to go I doubt it will surprise me.:(

What do you think of the Kindle?

Yes, I think you can. I watched the video demo and you can "dog ear" pages to go back to later.

What do you think of the Kindle?

I just saw this thing a couple days ago, and I must admit that if this thing can deliver on all it claims to be then this will be as big as the iPod was for music. I you haven't seen the Kindle, then check it out at Amazon.com. Its on their main page. It uses wireless broadband to shop for...

    what entices you to purchase?

I mostly buy books that have been recommended or by authors I like to read. But, I did just buy Mister B. Gone mainly for the books design. Its made to look very old and beat up, even all the pages look like they are yellowing on the edges. I used to work in the printing industry for many years...
