    New Sony e-Book Reader

I think that if the PDF files (or whatever they are) could be offered as a bonus for purchasing the dead tree version, they could get themselves some customers. But if I'm paying $15, I want something to show for it; not a bunch of electrons. Even if I could have the option of adding on the...

Have you ever met one of your favourite authors?

I met Richard Marcinko ("Rogue Warrior") when I was in radio back in 1996. Really a friendly guy.

    Kid's book about Underground Railroad

Anyone recognize this story? A girl's family has moved into a house that has a hidden tunnel under it that was part of the "underground railroad." That was the system that slaves in the south United States went through to get to the northern free states. I remember something about her falling...

I'm a Hiaasen fan, too! I just picked up his very latest, "Skinny Dip." Seems like a classic Hiaasen book!

    An Action Junkie

I'll second Paul Bond's recommendation for Jack Du Brul. Du Brul runs hot and cold, but a very good one is "The Medusa Stone." I think it'll be just what you're looking for.

Never judge a book by it's cover, or should you?

I think it's okay to judge a book by its cover! I'm not ashamed to admit it! The publishers know shoppers check out the covers and invest a lot of money into making the cover a strong statement to try and make a great first impression. Book wholesalers buy books based on the cover, usually...

Need a recommendation on a certain genre

Okay, thanks. I did a search on this forum for it but couldn't find anything. Thanks to everyone who replied with suggestions. I'm looking at one of the Preston/Childs books pretty seriously, and just started looking for "The Day After Tomorrow" as well. Thanks again!

Need a recommendation on a certain genre

I'm looking for a well-written book like "The Da Vinci Code." There are too many problems with "The Da Vinci Code" to make it enjoyable for me, mainly in the historical/theological/geographic areas. He brings too many unsubstantiated concepts to the table that aren't true, and presents them as...
