My wife put it down at page 75 and I put it down at 50... nothing happened.. too much description of things I don't care about and a cliched thief... BORING.
Lately I have come to the realization that I do not like stories where someone starts on a long journey and pages go by describing their long journey, then something happens, they deal with it, and continue on the long journey...
I have also come accross stories where the setting is sci/fi...
Well, Left Hand of Darkness was all round great. I then went and tried Crystal Singer and stopped around page 130.. it suffered from the same problem of The Rowan... nothing interesting ever happened! Think I'm gonna try Watership Down next while awaiting new books in the mail..

I just finished the Rowan, which was, unfortunately, only average to me... I'm running out of new sci fi/fantasy books with new authors to try.. here is my list of readings in the last 2 years with 5 being the rest. Keep in mind that I still have and WILL BE reading the rest of Bujold's books...
What worries me about Prince of Nothing is your mention of his philosphical/religious views throughout his book. As Stranger in a Strange Land has brought to my attention... Nothing ruins a story for me more than when an author uses characters to simply preach his own religious/philosphical...
I own everything up to feast for crows, and i own all vorkosigan, discworld, 8 Pern, etc.. and I will get to them all in time, since I know I liked the first ones in the series... so do not worry bout that... I will check out your recommendations. Thanks.
Good question. The end of Star Trek on tv encouraged me to expand my horizens.. so I got into the 4400, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica etc... since I was running out of tv shows to watch, I decided that some Deep Space Nine books would be the way to go next... At this point in my life I had...
