Hi Nancy! Marilyn gave me your link I just want to thank-you for titles I've added to my booklist (I'm SO lucky! just a handy 20-minute walk from the Main Library of Philadelphia To post this, such a rigamarole! You'd think this was the CIA. :).

To have a book club here, I had to START one. It's like the man who asked Boston ladies where they bought their hats. "BUY ?!?!?" said one. "Why would we do that? We HAVE our hats!!" At a certain age, people don't MAKE friends, they HAVE friends, and they also HAVE book clubs. I posted a notice at Quaker Meeting, and got 6 recruits; 3 crotchety men, who then didn't show, one whiney depressed woman ditto, and 2 (hurrah!) delightful women in their 20s who came full of excitement to the branch library. Plus a talkative ex-reporter guy. We had a BLAST! Next, we submit 3 titles each .. and who knows? maybe more recruits. Onward!
-- in the meantime I'm off to GReece (again) May 17 for a month. Joy!! janet kroll

      Hello silverseason
Thanks so much for your help! A friend of mine had heard about a new book coming out this year about the only Australian to die on the Titanic and I didnt even know there was an Australian on there! I have always been fascinated with the Titanic and would love to have a read but dont have any further information on it .
      Kindest Regards

Thanks so much for commenting on my blog. I wasn't sure anyone was reading it since they don't give "hit" statistics anymore. My two blogs on Blogger keep me very busy.

Anyway, I just posted another review of a book that I highly recommend, "The Treatment & The Cure" by Peter Kocan

      Hi Silver,
Thanks for peeking in at my blog this morning. Nothing new since the formatting disappeared, I'm afraid. :( Biding my time, but thanks very much for the interest.

Thank you for commenting on my blog about our writing couch. Your example sounds comfortable and inspiring as well. Cheers!

I've only been to the Republic of Ireland and Canada. Some day, I'd like to see Mexico and Haiti. Concerning the latter, I'm really into readinga bout the Haitian revolution and Toussiant L'Ouverture.

Yes, I have been to Europe several times, beginning in 1978 with a driving trip in England and Scotland. I couldn't do that one now, as driving on the left becomes increasingly difficult.

We have also been in Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Greece.

What do you have in mind to do? I recommend against one of those trips where you visit 6 nations in 8 days. Pick one (or at the most 2) countries per trip.
