pleased to be part of the discussion. i joined last week but only now have had a chance to post.

just finished a great book, " a fish out of water" by Helen Palmer illustrated by P.D. Eastman. my son loves it. :)

have been an avid reader all my life, unfortunatley, i am a poor speller. hope everyone can excuse that.

big fan of john irving, vonnegut and lots of other fiction and non fiction alike. recently completed nathanial philbrick "sea of glory". really enjoy history.

Hey wharf rat and welcome! I love John Irving as well - have you read his new one? Novella started a thread on it somewhere just a few days ago :)

have not yet read irving's newest, "until i find you"(?). reviewer in my local newspaper sorta trashed it. But opinions... look forwar to reading novella's tread on this.

has anyone read Gunther Grass, "the tin drum"?
