No, every book stands for itself except maybe the Pendergast series (The Cabinet of Curiosities, Still Life with Crows, Brimstone, Dance of Death). Better to read these in chronological order. My favourites are Mount Dragon and Relic.

Would it be possible to have two seperate genres instead of one?
I don't think these genres really belong together. Mostly I'm looking for science fiction but fantasy always comes in my way. It would make things easier.
