If you could go anywhere in the world for a week, where would it be?

Washington DC ROCKS!!! I loved there. National Library of Congress = awesome sauce. It's one of the closest things to possibly having had a spiritual experience walking around that place. I would like to go to Papua New Guinea. I would also like to go to Nara in Japan, and to Tasmania. And to...

    Let's talk about people.

Actually, in the past some of my ex-girlfriends seemed to grow in front of me, and it was anything but amazing. Also, it could be due to a medical condition that someone grows in front of you. That's also not so amazing but scary. Like in 2010 I was on holiday in Japan and was given some...

    Fascinating scientific stuff

I should point out that the Daily Mail is held with almost as much respect in the UK as is FOX News in the U.S. Okay, it's not as obviously bad BUT it's seen as something of a popularist right-wing rag... Here's a song about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eBT6OSr1TI

    Top 10 musical turnoffs

Here's the deal: there is some awesome dubstep out there, and then there is the 97% of it that's total shit. Like reject hard-house/garage from the late 90s spat out onto the airwaves. But, for the class stuff, go listen to anything by Burial and you've got some of the most beautiful music...

Link in my signature, or if you can't see that (I understand some folks have them turned off in forums) it's www.spooky-reads.com Definitely recommend Decartes' Error! Can get heavy in spots (I found anyway), but was definitely worth pushing through.

February 2012: Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile

I just adored the use of the term épris to describe Lord Windlesham in the Social column of the Daily Blague.

February 2012: Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile

I love the opening to this book - the introduction by Christie that is of Death on the Nile being written after herself having returned from a winter in Egypt, and of the rich life aboard a Nile cruiser. If any doubt that this is a romantically inclined novel, such is disposed of promptly here...

    International marketing

Oh no, no, no. Much, much more. If you want it done anywhere approaching near to reasonable levels of competency anyway.

    Let's talk about people.

Hold on, hold on. Two pages of intelligent, reasoned conversation between two equally reasoned and intelligent people... you do know this is BAR right? Have either of you read Descartes' Error by Antonio Damasio? I found his writings about human emotions quite interesting. Quite especially of...
