    Ender's Game Movie

yes, I didn't think of that, it is quite likely that he will make a children's movie about it scince the main character is a child, either that or he will turn the battle school and Ender into adults, I don't know which one would be worse...

    Ender's Game Movie

Next year a movie of Orson Scott Card's ingenious Sci-Fi, Ender's Game will be released. Do you think that a movie could ever compare to the book? authough it is too early to say, there will be a lot that has to be missed like Peter's animal torturing and Ender's violent fights, otherwise the...

Dragonlance- please look at this thread!

I started a Dragonlance thread the day after I joined and It had a grand total of 0 replies. I think the dragonlance books are great fantasy; full of interesting charcters, imaginative lands and even some humour. My favourite character is Raistlin. Please talk about the books here!!!

I have just finished Enders Game a few days ago, now I am reading Time Of The Twins by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I am also reading The War Of The Wolds at the moment on my Zire (its an ebook, does that count? :D) I think that i will read either Speaker For The Dead (Orson Scott Card) or...

    Old vs New

I think that I prefer "old" fantasy. I love the dragonlance books by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, those books have been around for 25-30 years. Another of my favourites is Ursula Le Guin, another "old" authour. In saying that, there aresome good modern fantasy authours like Maggie Furey...

    Orson Scott Card: Ender's Game

There is going to be a movie of Ender's Game released next year, I don't think that i will go and see it because most of the movies that I have seen based on books have dissapointed me.

Hitcher's Guide to the Galaxy -how does the film compare?

Did Zaphod's anotomical layout bother you fountainhead, or am I the only one? as I said before; how is he meant to "bash his heads together" if one of them flips out from under his top head?

    LOTR V/S Harry Potter

Harry Potter does not even come close to The Lord Of The Rings. In my opinion the LOTR series is better written, has more interesting characters and is an all round better read than Harry Potter.

    looking for a SciFi war

The Ender Saga You might have read it but I would higly reccomend the Ender Saga by Orson Scott Card especially Ender's Game but it concentrates more on the development of the main character rather than the war. OOPS!! there is bugs in the first book (almost all of them get killed anyway and...

    Orson Scott Card: Ender's Game

I started reading Ender's Game two days ago. I am on chapter thirteen and it is becoming one of the best books i have ever read. wouldn't it be cool if the battle game was recreated in real life (it would probably have to be done in space, it would probably be diffcult to build and run a large...

    Philip Pullman: His Dark Materials

Interesting... I thought the concept of Deamons was interesting. I loved the first book, but the second and third were terrible in my opinion.

    Aunt Petunia *SPOILERS*

h_carnahan: it is the points in brackets that are the basis on my "theory" (especially the unless it was an act point) and about your point e; this is not necesaraly the case, Harry's parents may not have told petunia about the money, they may have not trusted her. I quote; "I HAVE NO EVIDENCE"

What is the one passage in any book that has made you laugh the most?

Tasslehoff Burrfoot heaved a sigh. Plunking his small body down on a chair, he looked around, sighed again, and made an announcement. "I'm bored." Now, at the sound of these dreaded words, anyone who had lived long on Ansalon would have made every attempt to flee for his life. Go up...

    Aunt Petunia *SPOILERS*

I do not know the aswer to that, perhaps it is down to mere supersticion (unlikely) or possibly, authough there is no evidence that I know of, Petunia may have once been a student at hogwarts but was expelled and hides it from her family and her resentment of harry is due to jealosy. note: this...
