Dermotjpr reccomended this to me, It is a bit... strange, but it made me laugh; http://www.flashplayer.com/animation/potterpuppetpals.html There is a sequel which is even better: http://www.flashplayer.com/animation/potterpuppetpals2.html Innacurate, but Halarious.

    Why is reading 'dorky'?

I think the main reason that reading is labelled as "dorky" Is that kids who read a lot outside of school excel in academic subjects such as history, science and especially english. I know I get glared at when I admit to have read whatever book my english lit teacher is waving at the class, or...

    Why is reading 'dorky'?

I think that it is strange that a person who does not read books because they scorn them would make fun of someone who does. How do they know what reading is like? maybe it can be written off as plain run-of-the-mill bullying. I suppose I could be accused of being odd, because I spend my lunch...

Rate the new Potter book here

I disagree Dermot. you have a point; comparrison can be a negative thing, it can make us miss the qualities of one particalar thing an place of another, but The Lord Of The Rings is not Harry Potter and it is a sin to even mention their names in comparrison. No matter how popular Harry Potter...

    Why is reading 'dorky'?

Most of the pwople in my class at school resent my reading habits because I do not drink and reading somehow proves that i am boring. Either this, or they resent anything that isnt to do with alcohol.

    Fantasy Books ?

The Best Fantasy Books To Read The first fantasy book you must read, it is a sin not to read it, would be Magician by Raymond E. Feist, then read the rest of his books (the conclave of shadows isn't that good). Next, I recommend Margaret Weis And Tracy Hickman, the creators of Dragonlance, read...

    Recommendations for a Fantasy "Newb"

All the books I could recommend have been, you might want to try The Wizards And The Warriors by Hugh Cook or any Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms Books. The wizards and the warriors is a bit odd. oh and If you havent, read Magician (probably was already mentioned)

    Authors you want to drop-kick.

I think the authours I would particularly like to drop-kick are; Tom Clancy- This is possibly because his books are unnecessarly rude, I find his books repetitive or I just dont like him. Colin Forbes- For writing the stone leopard. Because he is my favourite authour, I am not going to...

Books make you strange and lonely...

I have heard many stange comments and jibes about my reading habbits, such as a person who would always shout "Hunter S. Thompson" at me when I passed (don't ask me why) and an annoying little boy who asks me "can I borrow your dictionary" (he would then promptly remove the book from my pocket...

    Michael Crichton- Timeline

I found that the "quality" of Chrichton's books are inconsitent (for want of a better word) I thought that Jurassic Park, Lost World, The andromeda strain, Timeline and Prey were his best and I hated Rising Sun and Airframe. Without a doubt Prey is my favourite.

The Wizards And The Warriors- Hugh Cook

I read this book recently and thought it to be...well, strange. Has anyone else read it? please post your thoughts on the book and/or authour.
