On the Horror side Robert McCammon is pretty good and I'd start with Swan Song, gets compared to King's the Stand all the time. Brian Lumley is another one of my favorites for his large Necroscope series which has a bit of everything in it. The first eight are great but they go downhill after...
Well don't let them base their votes off the movie version of Eragon. There have been lots of bad book to movie adaptations in the past but holy crap that one was really bad :).
I've read and have all his books and most are pretty good. Its been a long time since I read Boy's Life so I can't really remember much of it but it is a good book. I like Swan Song, The Wolf's Hour(I'm a werewolf nut), and Stingers better. Mine is also a great book that I don't think he gets...
I've read Monster Island and thought it was just ok. Its the first book in a series but I haven't bothered to read the other books in the series yet. I may in the future if I get bored enough and my library has them. There is a big thread about the books on that zombie forum that somebody...
I've read both of those and liked the Survival Guide much better the World War Z. Z was okay but I don't like that style of writing either. Check out the Autumn series by David Moody. You can get the first book free theinfected.co.uk there just add the www in front, won't let me past links...
Still can't post links but if you do a search for it on youtube or google you are bound to find a trailer.
Already looks like they have butchered the book pretty well. Only good thing I can so far is at least the werewolves turn into wolves and not bipedal hairless rats like in Underworld.
Time to bump an old thread. Some of these will be repeats since I was about to start a new thread on this but thought I better search first :).
Armstrong, Kelly; Otherworld Series
I've only read the first two so far but they aren't bad. Not strictly a werewolf series.
Borchardt, Alice...
Thirded. After having read Rice's whinny bitchy vampire books reading Lumelys was a nice change of pace. His don't screw around :). The last couple books are kind of weak but the first 10 are great.
The Anita Blake books fit but they aren't exactly great literature. They aren't bad if you like to just read some entertaining trash every now and again atleast up to around book 7 or 8 where the series turns into hardcore porn.
He has another Old Spice commercial out now. Not as good as the old one but still cool.
Since I'm a newb I can't post a link to it yet but if you enter Bruce Campbell "Old Spice" commercial - Hungry Like The Wolf into the youtube search it will pop up.
He isn't one of my favorites but I've still read a lot them. As many books as he churns out it kind of hard not to read at least a few. Watchers and Twilight Eyes are my favorites so far. The Odd Thomas books aren't bad but I'd rather he would finish up the Snow series instead of churning the...
Robert McCammon's newest book Speaks the Nightbird
Robert McCammon, author of the best-sellers Boy's Life and Gone South, returns to the forefront of American fiction with Speaks the Nightbird.
Is there a witch in Carolina in 1699? The people of the town of Fount Royal think so. Her name...
