What crime/horror/thriller/mystery books have you read and found appealing?

Fate-I have read all of her books to date. I agree that the recurring characters are great. Who can't like Pete Marino? ha ha

    Theists and atheists( P.S.)

I think one thing to keep in mind is that as humans we always think our way of thinking is correct. If someone counters that, then we don't believe them. I like the song lyric "How can you say your truth is better than ours?" There will be conflict because of this idea.

    Dennis Lehane-anyone read his books?

I think I will have to do what I have before with other authors and make a list of all their books and read them, but put Darkness Take My Hand on the top of the pile :) Thanks for this information, it is quite helpful :)

I have not seen Mystic River the movie. I am the same as you though-I like to watch the movie after I read the book :)

Which Novel Series Do You Currently Own?

Oh no, now I am very curious which one you are referring to. I will have to check out his newer books. I just had a discussion with someone who said that authors are saying the quality of their books are decreasing do to the demand that they write one novel a year instead of having more time. It...

Which Novel Series Do You Currently Own?

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will have to start reading Michael Connelly's books :) I am reading The Burning Wire with Lincoln. I enjoy these books. I think I will start on Jeffrey Deaver's other books as soon as I have finished this one.

    Dennis Lehane-anyone read his books?

Shutter Island is one of those books that you know there is going to be a twist as he did give some clues, but I tried not to figure it out. I really wanted to be surprised at the end :) Mystic River is a really good book. I have to say though I think Shutter Island is one of my favorites. Some...

Which Novel Series Do You Currently Own?

Which Lincoln Rhyme novel are you on now? I have read so many mixed reviews of James Patterson's Alex Cross books. I have yet to pick one up. I like Michael Connelly. I need to catch up on those :)

    Dennis Lehane-anyone read his books?

I was pleasantly surprised that it did stay true to the book. I still do prefer the book over the movie though :) His other books that I have read Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, Moonlight Mile, and Prayers for Rain are great. Now I plan on reading all of his. I just thought the twist in...

    Dennis Lehane-anyone read his books?

I have read a few of Dennis Lehane's books. They are the type I can't put down once I start to read them. They have intrigued me from the beginning. Shutter Island was wonderful (in my opinion). I then read a few more and did not realize at first that there was a series with Patrick and Angie...

Which Novel Series Do You Currently Own?

I have read a lot of series, but I don't have the books. When I buy a book, I read it right away. I then donate it elsewhere. I have bought so many books now that I have started to strictly go to the library and check the books out instead. I have read Jeffery Deaver's, Lincoln Rhyme, series...

    Are You A Slacker?

Rarely am I a slacker. Although they say not to, I normally read right before I go to bed. There are very few days I go without reading.

    To read is to write..

Well said Blindsided. I agree :) I like that you have opened it to a new way of looking at this.

    Monogamous? or not?

I normally only have one book going at a time. There are exceptions of course. Mostly when there is an in depth book that I might feel the need to have a "rest" from.

    To read is to write..

I would have to say that I think this is true, but in my opinion, it comes from our psychology. We all do have different interpretations of things as it is seen through "our eyes." If we all interpreted things the same way then we would all like or dislike the same things for the same reasons...
