Mostly just the bourbons listed are in there, but I run about a dozen bottles at a time. For the price of one night out on the town I can buy a book and a bottle. :p
BTW, the US version looks nothing like the UK version. The US has a scene from the book on the cover. The cover art appears to be by the same artist as used on all of his other books.
A mass market can be any width. For instance, the Robert Jordan Eye of the World book was first released as a trade paperback that stands up well to rereading. It is now available in a "mass-market" version that is over 600 pages but the same height and width of your standard pulp fiction...
Bourbon mostly, but I branch out on occasion.
Bourbon - Old Forester is my every day standby, but Booker's, Knob Creek, Wild Turkey, Blanton's, Elijah Craig 18yr old, Evan Williams Single Barrel and Maker's Mark all have a spot in my cabinet.
Non Bourbon American whiskey - Jack Daniels...
It's two people in a rally car. :D I'm a moderator of sorts on a car forum, so it kinda fits. I like cars in general, but I own a VW 2001 1.8T Wolfsburg Jetta that has seen some improvements.
Once and Future King. Turned into a trilogy, and the later books are darker, but this is one of the greats in relation to King Arthur. Think Disney's Sword in the Stone, and you will get an idea of what the book is like.
You might also try Dale Brown. I think he is a bit more accessible, but in the same genre. Flight of the Old Dog is one of my favorite books. Also look into Stephen Hunter who writes about a sniper in Point of Impact.
John Steakley's Vampires. The book is the reason for John Carpenter's Vampires, but it far surpasses the movie. It is one of only two books that Steakley has written that I know of, but it is very good. The other book he wrote is Armor, which is as close to Starship Troopers as you are ever...
I read the short story this comes from, and I have to say that I actually enjoyed this book. It is a story that we know bits of from the rest of the series, but the book fills in some questions nicely. It was also a quick read since it was less than half as thick as his other books in this series.
Yeah! Hey Rod, good to have you on the forum. I haven't started posting much as I am in the middle of quarter end insanity, but it's always nice to have familiar voices.
Just curious, but do you have to get permission from anybody to publish a new Robinson Crusoe novel? If not actual laws, are there courtesies observed? I read the book many times as a kid, and I always found it inspiring. I would love to read what you have when you are ready to share / publish.
My wife keeps asking me weird questions via PM, and every time I ask her why, she points me here. So thank Ashlea for bringing me here. :D
I am mostly a Sci-fi and Fantasy reader, but I also enjoy Westerns, Historical Fiction, and Thrillers from the Tom Clancy Stephen Hunter genre. I enjoy...
