No, no, no, no, no ... let's not start any competition thing. I'm not into that.
Just that you would compare me to TMG is extremely flattering. Thank you!
:)
After I Come
Sometimes after I arch and silently scream
Your name, I feel as if I have died and blown away.
Sometimes I feel as beautiful and empty
As the shed skin of a snake. A euphoric echo.
Sometimes I will rise and set like a weak sun
In the chilled web of winter, a pale...
Wow, I have so many favorite poems. But the one I have always leaned toward as my personal favorite is A Blessing by James Wright.
Here it is:
A Blessing
Just off the Highway to Rochester, Minnesota
Twilight bounds softly forth on the grass.
And the eyes of those two Indian ponies...

M-O-P: Thanks for your comments. Good constructive criticism is always valued. I've already fixed the typo. And I do need to pay more attention to rhythm. How might you have written the line you sighted? This poem is in second draft...

Taliesin starts off a bit slow. In fact, at about page 50, I was about to toss it and move on. Then, it just CLICKED. I couldn't put it down. Merlin was probably my favorite and then...
DANCE
I only know this vision of you comes to me:
Under stars
Of a bright, black sky you dance
Barefoot on the shiny meadow.
Your eyes are closed.
Your arms are outstretched.
Your hands are gracefully limp.
You are no longer in need of breath.
You are hearing the perfect song...
