    Poem: After I Come

After I Come Sometimes after I arch and silently scream Your name, I feel as if I have died and blown away. Sometimes I feel as beautiful and empty As the shed skin of a snake. A euphoric echo. Sometimes I will rise and set like a weak sun In the chilled web of winter, a pale...

    Favorite Poem Project

Wow, I have so many favorite poems. But the one I have always leaned toward as my personal favorite is A Blessing by James Wright. Here it is: A Blessing Just off the Highway to Rochester, Minnesota Twilight bounds softly forth on the grass. And the eyes of those two Indian ponies...

    Poem: Circle

Bobby: Why do I get the sense you were being sarcastic? ;) M-O-P: Thanks for your comments. Good constructive criticism is always valued. I've already fixed the typo. And I do need to pay more attention to rhythm. How might you have written the line you sighted? This poem is in second draft...

    Poem: Circle

CIRCLE Down the alley Around the Apco station The brown paper sack Gets passed from mouth to mouth; The sacred rite, The cool burning cure for the chill. Brittle-boned and broken, Who are these bent men With brusque faces Dark with the weary world? As I walk past, to my...

    Sounds?

I live by a lake (geese honking) and not far from an airport. So I need expected noise to drown out the unexpected noise. Plus, I love listening to music anyway. When I'm reading, I'll usually stick with instrumental jazz, no vocals. Miles, Brubeck, Coltrane, Shorter... you get the picture. Peace

    Poem: Dance

TMG: Certainly you may. Thank you all for the kind words. The poem was written while thinking of a particular person, but I wanted it to represent that universal moment when the object of desire is there, but so much desired that you are frozen between whether to go for it and possibly...

    King Arthur type books?

I enjoyed the first three books of Stephen R. Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle, Taliesin, Merlin, and then Arthur. Taliesin starts off a bit slow. In fact, at about page 50, I was about to toss it and move on. Then, it just CLICKED. I couldn't put it down. Merlin was probably my favorite and then...

    Poem: Dance

DANCE I only know this vision of you comes to me: Under stars Of a bright, black sky you dance Barefoot on the shiny meadow. Your eyes are closed. Your arms are outstretched. Your hands are gracefully limp. You are no longer in need of breath. You are hearing the perfect song...
