I'll second The Bartimaeus Trilogy, and also suggest Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Both fantastic series, as well as fast-paced, entertaining reads.
Hey, you can't go too wrong when you've got the original Broadway cast. Except Rosario. I thought she was okay, but they could have found someone better.
Hmmm....well, I read them a couple of months ago. I really enjoyed them. I was also reading Carol Berg's Bridge of D'Arnath series, which I also enjoyed. It's amazing how superb the Young Adult fantasy scene is getting. We had a group of 10-11 year old boys at the Barnes & Noble I worked at...
Haha, I'm sure I'll stick around for a while. I got stuck on some religious forums, and then I moved out of state to be a nanny. Now I'm back to theatre, so I've got time again.
It seems we have some pompous asses on our hands now, no?
Hmm...I personally think that depression can be a good source for writing from. It always depends on the person, but speaking from experience, some of my best stuff has come from an overflow of feelings when I am depressed. It feels good to get them out and to be able to express yourself in...
I'll sure try. I got sucked in to another site's discussion boards. Now that I moved and don't have the internet at home, my posting ablilities have been cut severly short. I guess I'll just have to find a job where I can play on the internet all day...
I loved Tuesdays With Morrie, so I have been meaning to read this book. I did get the chance to catch it on TV though, and I absolutely loved it. They did such a wonderful job with the movie and I just can't wait to read the book! Mitch Albom has such wonderful philosophies.
Well, I had to read it for my AP European History class, over Christmas Break. It was a little much to digest on such a busy break, and I know that it's is all complete satire, but I guess I just didn't like how ridiculous the story was and the fact that the copy I had almost pornographical...
This is a little ranting session I posted on my blog back in September. So I thought I'd share it here too. Your thoughts?
"I've slowly discovered, over the course of my life, how superficial the media can be/is. I've gathered this opinion through observing what has goes on around me...
I've heard tell that there is a Broadway musical in the makings for Monty Python, and our dear Eric Idle is the brains behind it. How much fun would that be!? The already have some great songs to put in, i.e. the Lumberjack song. I can't wait to see if it will really happen!
How else should you pass a long car ride? I feel bad for people who can't read in cars. I'm the only one in my family that can do it, and without that ability, I would never be able to survive so much time in one car with 6 or more people. Yikes.
