Keira Knightley bothers me so much. She looks and talks funny. She was good in Pirates, and she was okay in Bend it like Beckham, but I didn't like her in King Arthur at all. As for this movie, I thought it was alright. It dragged at times, but it kept my interest (mostly because of Hugh...
I am only on chapter three, but his writing is very clear and he makes the Phantom very intriguing from the beginning. So far I think he's a great writer. I figured something that sparked such an amazing Broadway play has to be worth reading.
One thing I think needs to be taken into account, also, is that people are going to like the poetry they can relate to, or that has meaning to them; that has touched them in some way. Just because someone doesn't mention a certain poet when they are listing their favorites doesn't mean that...
I just started reading Phantom of the Opera today (even though I have been meaning to for so long), and I just wanted to know what else he has written and what you think of his works. Do you think there really was a phantom, like he suggests in the prolouge, or was he just trying to make his...
Also, Molly Cochran and Warren Murphy have three books out called The Forever King, The Broken Sword, and the Third Magic. These books aren't exactly Arthurian legend, but they are very well-written and entertaining.
If you have any interest in the Merlin side of things, I recommend Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy (The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, and The Last Enchantment). I just finished it last night and I have to say they were excellent books.
Honestly, I have no place in my heart for The Color Purple by Alice Walker. I don't know why I didn't like it, but I had the roughest time getting through that book. Also, Death Comes for the Archbishop. That is the only book I have ever fallen asleep reading.
Agreed. This is my absolute fav. book out of all of them, and cutting enough plot out to make it into one movie is going to rip out of the story everything that makes Harry Potter Harry Potter. If he does that, we'll have another priz. of askaban on our hands...and we dont want that.
*sigh* Christian Bale... that is one attractive man. Ever since I saw him in Swing Kids when I was 11, I have been in love with him. And Elijah Wood too, since I was 8 and saw him in Huckleberry Finn. Don't like him much as a dirty hobbit though...
Geez guys I am so sorry I missed my turn!!! I haven't been around for a while on this site at all. I came back and there had been 3,000+ posts in the time I'd been away. I am sorry again. I promise next time my turn rolls around you'll have something spectacular from me.:D
On a happier note, Daniel (as well as Emma and Rupert) did a much better job of acting this time around; and the scenery, though VERY different, was beautiful. I just don't care much for this new director and his ideas. humph.
I can't even describe how angry I am about this third film. Everything about it was just...wrong. They left out so much information and added unnecessary things. It was completely messed up. I was very dissapointed in Lupin for one, but I also don't understand why they left out information...
