Persecution
Why do you trample upon my dreams
And crush them like dead leaves under your shoe?
You have no right.
I am a person, with feelings.
Maybe you didn’t realize that,
Since you are so wrapped up in yourself.
Vain, conceited, arrogant, uncouth;
There are many words that...
Wow, does no one ever post in the Children's Fiction Forum? This shocks me, because there are so many amazing books out there that fit in this catagory, and I know you all have read most of them. TALK! PLEASE!
So I was wandering around in the sci-fi/fantasy aisle of my favorite library, like I do when I am trying to find something to read but don't want to think too hard about it. I picked up a few books and looked at them, and then I decided on one and checked it out. I do this all the time...
Yeah, they are definetely better. The first one of his I read was Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, and I loved it. They have recently made a Broadway Musical out of Wicked (which I would recommend to read first), which has been a huge hit. He has another one called Mirror, Mirror, which I...
I think it's a very heartfelt, moving story. Though the diction is simple, it gets the point across very quickly and effectively. I don't know how to quote on here yet, but there are a lot of phrases that I really enjoyed and I think you did a great job with this.
I think it's a wonderful story, and I love how it is really what our lives, or most of our lives are like. I can't think of the words to describe what I'm thinking right now, seeing as I am drugged up on Lortab, but I think it is a wonderful story. :D
Calm down everyone, it's totally fine. All I have to say is that too many people of one religion in one place, with others around that are different, is never a good idea. I'm not super-duper religious either, but it isn't like a religion here, it's like a social class, and that's why I don't...
I think people are going too far to do what the media tells them looks good. That thing probably ruins your eyesight. So what would you rather be? Blind or fashionable?
I think it's a beautiful poem and you have some lovely diction in there. It draws the reader in really well. In fact, I found myself remembering a few of my worst breakups. Snaps to you; it's a great poem.
I think British books lose a little of their sparkle when things are changed so Americans can "understand" them. I like the challenge. You learn more when you become curious about what a certain word means than if you think you already know the correct definition (in which case, you are...
Piano
I am ivory and ebony. I am her sanctuary.
She takes meticulous care of me and I, in turn,
Reward her by proudly sounding my taunt strings.
Light from a high window illuminates my shiny black surface.
Admired by all that see and hear me,
I soothe sorrow and frustration with a few...
