I finished Poison Master by Liz Williams - couldnt really get into to be honest.
Then read Dreams Made Flesh by Anne Bishop - if you really liked the BLack Jewels series you'd love these short stories that fill in some history about some of the main characters :D
I know we're well through this month, but thought I would start a thread anyhow :D
What are you reading, or what have you read so far this month.
First Stone - Mark Anthony - the last book in the Last Rune Series by this author. A brilliant ending to his series :D
Trail of the...
Unfortunately due to heavy study workload this year I've not always been able to get to posting onto this forum.
It's a shame because I like coming here, but once this year's studies are over I'll be able to come more often :)
However, I noticed when I can't participate the monthly book...
I would say some books in the series do get better (there are 6) and some are a little confusing as in why did it go in that direction. However, overall I think it's entertaining and there were some great ideas in the series. :D
She's written a few standalone books and wondered if anyone had tried them :)
I'm half way through Poison Master and in two minds if I'm enjoying it or not. The author is using both Sci-fi and Fantasy themes in the book and I'm not sure she's got the blend right.
I've read this book. I picked it up from my library, thinking it would have a sci-fi / fantasy mix. It's very much a sci-fi story and despite Acorna being an interesting character due to her difference to the rest of the characters in the book, I found the pace a bit slow for me.
I think long silly names for both characters and places in fantasy make it difficult to read. I much prefer books with smaller names, and it can be done, there are plenty of examples.
I've got Brook's Knights of the Void series and personally think it's one of his best :D
I've read The Fifth Sorceress by Newcomb, didnt get any further as I didnt care much for his writing style. However, I wouldn't call this dark fantasy.
