I'm glad to have read some of the posts. I've started the 1st book now. It's a bit of monotonic as you stated. But, will keep trudging til I see excitement as many of you said.
There is a niche for it. Write it well and it could be like the shack by william p. young. This story was good. Today this book has over 4500 reviews on Amazon.
I got me a kindle. It's really nice. I had thought it as some electronic gadgetry, but the screen is unlike screens of TV or other electronic devices. It's almost like reading on matte plastic of some sort. Not reflective, once gotten used to it, it's almost like reading on paper.

Original Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. Much more adventurous than the movie. My kids really enjoyed the book. And there is fear, much fear from Pinocchio and his father, Geppetto.

One book I...
I read this book not too long ago. It discussed about how communications between an airplane captain and co-captain were causing problems with decision making to guide the plane to safety. The main problem was the language that was being spoken.

Our eyes just get drawn down to them as magnets, (my apologies, but it's genetically built in).
Do you forgive, when a coworker loses focus and looks where he shouldn't for a half sec too long?
Read Rachel's children. I can see people losing jobs, losing health benefits, then losing their homes so easily. Especially in current economic times.
While reading Rachel's children, someone also recommended to me: A Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby K. Payne

Offers you great strategies for attacking overwhelming large tasks, or smaller tasks that you detest to start.
