Yup the book's definately better than the movie[which is one of hollywood's best literary adaptions, considering their track record with films like Relic, Hannibal, Sphere ....etc all of which were excellent books btw] :)

I would recommend James Clemens's "Banned & Banished" series as well alongwith Elektra, Sellsword & Magemanda
"Oh, and James Clemens Wit'ch series is complete and eminently readable (if you can get over the pretension of those bloody apostrophes in all his 'mystical'...

Hover Car Racer was a good serial novel[imo the first 5 parts were good but the last 3 didn't stand upto my expectations & were very predictable]

I have read "the magician's guild" & i found it to be ok[rating of 7.5/10]
my reasons bieng that it has good start & a sound ending with a big surprise which paves the way for the sequel however it really dragged in the middle part
