And never will be completed. The dude is going to DIE!!!!!! before he finishes the books. He is a fat old lazy bastard. Great books though.
Robin Hobb - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robin Hobb's Farseer books are pretty good. They aren't as good as Martin's books but they are...
The price of books for it is still way to expensive. As long as they are as expensive if not more expensive then the paperback versions I'll just get the paper back or go to the library.
The quality of the Anita Blake books doesn't so much fluctuate as plummet after the early installments.
Brian Lumleys Necroscope series is one of my favorite vamp series but I kind of doubt its what your looking for. His vamps are almost all hard core evil although you do end up liking a...
Robin Hobb's Farseer series is pretty damn good and fits what your looking for pretty well.
Robin Hobb's Home
Jane Lindskol Through Wolf's Eyes isn't bad either but its not as good of a series as Hobb's or Martin's. Martin's series is amazing but he is dragging ass about finishing it so you...
Look at Brian Lumley's Necroscope series. The main character isn't a bad guy but there is a lot of time spent with bad guys from their point of view in the books. The vamps in his series are not whiny little bitches like they are in Rice's.
I've read some of them a long time ago. The only story I can remember is "The Body Politic" were people's hands have their own consciousness and they decide to over throw the world lol.
Yeah I've read Boyd's books and have been waiting a very long time for her to put out the 3rd book. I've read plenty that are romancey so her's didn't bother me. Haven't read that other one though so I'll look it up.
I've actually read Stinger and The Wolfen already but I've never read anything by Shikar so I'll give him a look. I've read a lot of Vamp and a whole lot of bad werewolf books. Have a thing for werewolves and good books about them are few McCammon's The Wolf's Hour being one. I'm talking more...
Seems like they are getting hard to find or maybe I'm just not looking that hard. Last fairly new really good ones I came across were Jonathan Maberry's Ghost Road Blues series. Amazon link. It was a bit drawn out but still a well done old fashion good vs evil style horror series.
Brian Lumley's Necroscope series is a pretty good vamp series but it isn't a romancy one. His vamps are just plain nasty evil but they are really interesting. Been a while since I read the series but there are a few strong female vamps later on.
I use an Excel spreadsheet like so. Thats my backup and a little behind. I use to just use a plain old txt file but it got fried and I had to go back and retype my list using an out of date back up. Since I had to retype a lot of it anyway I switched over to Excel and started adding more...
e-books are too freaking expensive to bother with right now. When the books I want to read start showing up as e-books for around $1 or $2 then I may put up with reading them on a computer.
The series with the most books I've read is McCaffrey's Dragon Riders of Pern series. Think there are around 20 books in that series now including the ones her son has wrote. My favorite long series is Brian Lumley's Necroscope series. Think thats up to around 15 books now. The last 4 or so...
I thought Fell was a bit weak compared to The Sight which is one of my favorites. I assume you have read Fire Bringer about deer which is set in the same universe? Its pretty good too. The Wolves of Time by William Horwood is another good series about wolves duh.
