I don't wear glasses or contacts, but being on the PC for circa 12 hours per day, and reading for 3 hours on a crowded, bumpy, tube per day - I would not be surprised if my eyesight is deteriorating by the minute.

Hey there, and welcome to the forum. It's good to see someone at such an age to be so enthusiastic about books, of which I do, of course, have many to suggest for you.
Can we start, though, by you telling us what kind of books you enjoy, what books you have read recently (say the last...
Shall do once it's all in the database and I figure out how to do it properly with their system.
Do you have a list (either.txt or.csv) of the current ones you have in the library so I can strip out any duplicates....or does this not matter?

2 PCs - you can either have it on a network (although only one PC can write to the database at a time) or you can do as I did and just download it onto each PC and then use the key you get when you purchase the product to unlock it twice.
I checked with them and this is okay as long as you...
I'm just starting out with it really but so far there are now problems. They kindly let me use it from two PCs within the house, so that's nice.
I want to be able to fully customise the look of it to fit in with a website, and they say it is possible, but I need to have a decent look at it...
Can I give you a .txt with the information in SURNAME, FIRSTNAME, TITLE format to do a bulk upload? Or perhaps a .csv file or something?
I'm just putting my books into the collectorz.com database and there's way too many to input into this site manually.

On many forums I see people listing their favourite books, and must say I disagree with many, as I am sure many will disagree with me...and so I pose this question.
Can you name here just one book that you would suggest others should read. Do not suggest Harry Potter or a world renowned...
Martin.
Cold Comfort Farm is about a young lady by the name of Flora Proste who when we join her at the start of the book is in the unfortunate circumstance of her parents having died. So, she decides that she wants to go and live with a relative...but which one to choose? She decides that...
Funny you should mention that as someone on my forum mentioned PK Dick, a short story but couldn't remember the title. Coinidence?
I'll look into it and let you know, thanks.

Hi all,
A friend was wanting to find a book, that she thinks is a sci-fi novel, and she can only describe the basic start as thus...
In a society where financial credit is all-important, a man runs out of money. His apartment doors and windows seal him in automatically, and he's just...
I have just read this and thought it was remarkably good, laugh out loud witty, well written and a nicely structured storyline.
Anyone else read it and would like to discuss?

When reading it look out for more than storyline and the look at the fact that it has so many layers to it.
Here is a group of well-to-do high society boys who's lives and order break into chaos at being alone on the island. This is a direct result to of 'the lord of the flies' otherwise...
Luckily I don't seem to have as many as you as I have recently moved so had to get rid of them. It's only recently that I have started to rebuy books and add them as I buy them. I only have one small bookcase left to input and should result in just under 200 books altogether.
That's why I...
Not weird, but at least it develops her character a bit and, contrary to majority vote, I feel that after what happened to Sirius and the outcry of "He was the only person that could take Harry under his wing" I think that Aunt Petunia will do her best to protect him in the future...there is...
I would prefer children of my own to read other books first, simply because I feel that other material on offer to children, and often overlooked, has better storylines and character development, better use of language and style, and offer something thought provoking about the world we live in...
P.G Wodehouse
I haven't read any of these yet, but noticed in Waterstones that they have a lot of editions published by Everyman's Library (see image) which are very retro stylish and would make a nice little collection.
I was wondering if anyone has read them and can suggest which...
This thread had me convinced, so I went out and bought The World According to Garp and The Cider House Rules. Now if I ever fiind the time to read them I will contribute fully to what is written here. Thanks for the suggestions, and keep 'em coming.

My books are mostly contained in a random order in a few bookcases, but now that these are full, and for the last few weeks I seem to have been buying circa ten books per week, they are now being piled up on top of CD racks and anywhere else that they can fit.
Of course none of the books are...
