    How Many Books Do You Read in a Year (approx.)?

    I am currently on my 92nd book this year and hope to make it to 100 but am doubtful with Christmas etc. I have managed to read more than the past few years where I have averaged about 70.

    I live in a small village in Austria so getting to the cinema is not possible so I do rely on DVDs for entertainment. This weekend for the first time I viewed "The Bourne Identity" and over the past two weeks I have seen also on DVD "Mystic River" and "Tell No One".

    I dont know where you are located but Play.com are excellent. They are cheap, offer a free postal service if you live in the UK, and are quick at delivering.

    I definitely use Google, I also have found out about other authors and books via forums like this. Word of mouth is a very good source.

    Well I read for entertainment most of the time and my current book is certainly entertaining, best laughs I have had in ages.

    I tend to buy most of my books secondhand so they have history when I get them. They are usually good quality secondhand. If books mean a lot to me then I wont lend them out, simple as that. My brother and a close friend are somewhat obsessive about their books, they open their books in such...

    Current Non-Fiction reads

    He always makes me laugh too, I laughed so hard yesterday while reading at the breakfast table that I spluttered and sent coffee and croissant everywhere! Thankfully I was alone. The worse thing is when you are in a public place reading and want to laugh hysterically but have to suppress it!:)

    Current Non-Fiction reads

    I am currently reading "The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid" by Bill Bryson, am loving this book after only 40 or so pages. I have laughed loads already, can thoroughly recommend it.

    Another really good British detective is Inspector Banks, featured in books written by Peter Robinson, set in Yorkshire.

    Do you read in the toilet, and what reading material usually goes in there?

    What a great question! But I have to say my answer is NO! I always think this is a predominantly male thing to do. I was quite horrified once when a male friend came to visit bringing me lots of magazines from England and then proceeded to take them to the toilet to read before handing them...

    I have kept a notebook since 2004 listing all the books I have read. It comes in very handy.
