I too am waiting for Martin and Jordan's latest. Not really in too big a hurry on Jordan though. I just want that epic to end, but that's may just be me. Also there are a couple books out by Orson Scott Card that I want to read, but haven't yet.
I was just wondering if anyone has read Straken by Terry Brooks yet. What do you think of the High Druid of Shannara trilogy? I have been a huge fan of Terry Brooks since I was 11. I'm currently reading George Martin and Philip Pullman, but I can't wait to start the High Druid trilogy. I was...
My bad... I thought the book was good, but I guess everyone didn't think so. I also read all of Terry Brooks stuff. His story lines don't drag on endlessly and they are quick reads for the most part.
I couldn't agree more. This is the first I've known about a movie, but I would be extremely disappointed if they took out the religous aspect. That's what gives the books meaning. I don't know why pullman would agree to that. Surely he has imput.
I read Eddings a lot about 10ish years ago and enjoyed his books. He's one of the reasons I continue to read fantasy. I don't think I'd put any one of his books in my top 5 fantasy books, but at least I can read every one of his books in all of his series and not want to slam my head into...
I've been tired of this series from book 5 or 6, but like a lot of you I just want to know how it ends for Rand and a couple of the others. The last couple books I've read(up to 9 I think), I skipped several whole chapters and will probably continue to do so for the remainder of the series...
I like the trilogy, but I found it very difficult to get started. I read the first 80 or so pages of the first book 3 or 4 times before I was able to push through. Once I got past a certain point it was very interesting from then on and I quickly finish all three books. I did have to force...
How about a book written by like a 14 year old? I read Eragon by Christopher Paolini late last year and it was very good. It's the first of a trilogy I believe and the second book is due out later this year.
just wondering what everyones fav authors are.
i've read tolkien, goodkind, martin, jordan, eddings, brooks, weis, hickman, pullman, and some others who aren't popping into my head right now, but i'd have to say that my favorite is probably terry brooks. and george rr martin is right...
i agree with what everyone is saying. it was really good in the beginning, but i don't know what jordan is doing now. nor do i really care all that much though i'll read till the end just so i know. but the books have gone from good to bad pretty quick.
you can't even compare the two. jordan isn't on the same level. i've read all of jordans books and i agree that in the beginning the wot series was good, borderline great, but that isn't the case anymore. it's more like ok borderline i'll not read another one. i skim 1/3 of his books as it...
