Well, as of 5:46 PM PST pretty much. Hillary is out now I'm, rather we Americans, stuck with Obama and McCain. Sadly, I may have to cross my party line.
I'm new to the forums and since I joined I have visited Book and Reader on an average of two maybe three times a week. I like this site and I can definitely see myself participating more often.
Goodness! I have't read that book since I was a freshman at university and I still have the book somewhere... Perhaps sometime this summer I will re-read it.
Anywhere and everywhere that is nice as well as quiet. For the past day and a half I've been reading outside on my hammock. I tried to read at a cafe once, but the noise... OY!... drove me crazy.
Florence and I were sitting forty kilometres south of Limoges, in Correze, almost exactly in the centre of France.
~ In the Merde for Love by Stephen Clarke
For the next two weeks I'm going light with my readings.
A Year in the World: Journeys fo a Passionate Traveller by Frnaces Mayes
But first, I'm re-reading In the Merde for Love by Stephen Clarke. The author is definitely one of my all time favorites.
I've read The Hobbit as well as The Lord of the Rings, but in the past I've had a very hard time completing The Silmarillion. Perhaps one day I'll tackle it, but for now there are many other books that I would like to read.
1) One Book that made you read it More Than Once: The Black Hunter: Forms of Thought and Forms of Society in the Greek World
2) One book you would want on a desert island: How to Survive on a Desert Island
3) One book that made you laugh: A Year in the Merde
4) One book that made you...
I've inherited several old books including:
Busy Hands and Patient Hearts or, the Blind Boy of Dresden 1867
The Blue Lagoon by H. De vere Stacpoole. Unfortunately, I do not see the date of the publication, but I do know that the book is quite old. So much so that I'm afraid to read it...
