Yeah, I agree. The guy got very annoying. Especially when he started rambling on for several pages. All I wanted to know about was the house. I suppose he added a lot to the story as these sidetracks built up the tension for when you finally got back into the house.
Overall, I really enjoyed...
I read it ages ago and loved it. I only read it because I was going through a sf phase and it was No2 in the sf masterworks series. It was definitely unlike anythin I had ever read before.
I loved all the science behind why garlic, and why crosses and the ending was great. Didn't see it...
Moondance - Michael Bublé
:D
Among about a billion others I always think of that one first, but there are a lot for me, almost every Sinatra song, a lot of Billy Joel songs and a lot, a lot, of country music songs.
I've read the book and really enjoyed it. I'd be willing to tag along the line "happiest book ever" to it because after reading it you just want to smile and feel happy.
The story is about an old man in an old man's home, who sits with a strange woman every day, open his notebook and tells...
I've read The Fog. That was yucky. Not scary, just disturbing. Especially that one scene........ouchie!!!
I've also read Haunted but I was very disappointed by that. Didn't scare me, or entertain me one bit.
I heard about the movie a long time ago, but I haven't seen ti out in cinemas. Is it out on DVD yet? I really want to see it. Not only due to the cult legend Bruce Campbell, but because it sounded pretty darn wacky.
Monty Python's Flying Circus

Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em
Whose Line Is It Anyway?
A Clockwork Orange. Not really a classic classic, but enough people know of it. I didn't like it, at the end I was thinking, 'what was the point in that?'
I like it. I love the beginning, but it did drag a bit in the middle.
I also noticed influences from certain books, specifically "The Day of the Triffids".
Good movie, wouldn't put it that high on my list though. Perhaps top 100.
I read a lot when I was a kid, but during high school I just stopped for some unknown reason. I came back to books about 2 years ago, when I started college.
I reckon number of authors must be about 40 (going from my reviews and adding a few for my pre-review days).
I haven't read anything else by Roy Croft except this one:

So I don't know if he is that good. But that one poem means a lot to me.
If people want to discuss religion and/or politics, go right ahead. Nobody is stopping you as far as I can see.
I enjoy discussing religion, what I don't enjoy are the people who take it very seriously, get really upset and then resort to insults and bad language. No need for any of that.
Here goes then, I'll try and give a variety of genres:
The Notebook - Nicholas Sparks (Love)
Lullaby - Chuck Palahniuk (Thriller)
Wasp - Eric Frank Russell (Sci-Fi / Comedy)
The Fog - James Herbert (Horror)
A Scanner Darkly - Philip K. Dick (Sci-Fi / Drug Abuse)
The Big Sleep - Raymond...
The Straw Men by Michael Marshall is the only one of his thrillers I have read. But it was awesome. What it lacked in the innovation it made up for with everything else. Story, characters, pacing, just everything. He is one of the most readable authors I've ever read.
Palahniuk. I think his...
Iain (M.) Banks - SF and all, he can just do no wrong for me
Michael Marshall (Smith) - His imagination in SF is second to none, and his thrillers are truly thrilling to read.
Chuck Palahniuk - I just enjoy his books.
James Herbert - The Fog was very good, not at all what I was...
