Hi Wendy
Welcome to BAR!
I love printed books too - when I feel like it, I will get one from my bookshelf and start reading...
I also read from my iphone, especially when I am in my car, waiting for my wife to finish her work...
I also read from my kindle at home, provided my kids do not...
Up Country - By Nelson Demille
I am aware that Paramount pictures have bought the rights to produce a movie some time back, with Nace Neufeld producing. Yet till today, nothing heard out.
FYI, Up Country is the 2nd book after The General's Daughter, starring John Travolta.
I enjoyed it, though as spotted by others, some grammar mistakes which can be easily corrected when you vett through again.
So, one question, what are you going to do with this starting action story? Are we expecting a complete novel at the end of the day?
I hope so!
Whenever I read from the Kindle, I am always so glad that they have this non-glossy/non-reflective screen, which helps so much when reading outdoor, with the Sun above you.
I am for ebook to blossom and expand, not just save the trees, but opportunities for many to read and be informed...
Hi
Although I read a lot from the Kindle, I still pick up a hardcopy book (from my home bookshelf) and read. I don't have any specific preference, but with the kindle, you can carry 'books' outdoor with just one gadget.
I have written many pros, so here's the cons:
1. Let's say I have...
Up Country was my favorite too; I enjoyed how Paul Brenner re-told his military experiences along the way to meet the witness of the killing of the Army Lieutenant. I think I read it more than five times... :) My eldest daughter (16) loves it too.
One highlight of reading this novel is that...
I read the three novels - fantastic! :)
I did a little research about Steig Larsson and some believe that his deceased is not natural because of the nature of his books - exposing a scary crime in that country. Whether it is true or not, I also felt sad (and angry) about how woman are...
If you are only going to use for reading and more reading, then Kindle is most appropriate. In your most important features, you may want to include these:
1. Easy on the eyes :)
2. Outdoor reading
For 1. - For those with back lit LED/LCD, reading it in the long run can adversely...
I have the latest kindle. I enjoy reading through it. One good feature is the change of font size which I can change to suit my comfort. Kindle is also light and the size is just right. Best of all, it is easy on the eyes.
This is the surprise book of my life, for me though...:)
Les Misérables (Signet Classics) [Unabridged] [Mass Market Paperback] - English translation
I spotted this book at a bookstore and bought it, more because I've seen the play twice when I was in London some years back. When I started...
Hi,
Thanks for the welcome...
I purchased the Kindle for the whole family, especially my kids. The built-in dictionary is extremely useful to learn new words since they are still schooling.
For avid readers, our first preference is usually a hardcopy book. However, if you can...
Hi
I am Bob; I love to read and read...
I don't really follow a specific author or authors but if I found something to my taste, I will not let it go. My favorite reading platform is through the Kindle (latest version with 6"), however, I don't usually bring it along with me whenever...
