    Mary Janice Davidson

I just read "Hello Gorgeous" and I didn't like it, so I won't be reading the second book. Her "Undead" series is a little better but if you didn't like the over the top attitude of the "Hello Gorgeous" lead (I can't remember her name) then don't bother with any of her other books because it's...

    Publish or Self-publish?

First I want to say congrats on finishing your book, that's quite an accomplishment and you should be proud published or not. As for the statement above all I can say is welcome to the wonderful world of being a creative person and trying to make a go of it professionally. I'm not a writer...

    Books you didn't finish

Snow Falling on Cedars. It was assigned in college and I never managed to get through it, I kept falling asleep.

Jim Butcher: The Harry Dresden Chronicles

I just got into this series and so far I like it. The first book was good but I think each book has been better than the last. I've just finished the 4th book. This is the kind of fantasy that appeals to me. It's got a sense of humor and isn't set in some made up world where everyone has a...

    Which do you prefer?

Softback mostly but there's something to be said about the hefty feeling of the hardback. The artist in me screams pencil. Paper clips good, staples, bad, very bad. Holding When the shelving is full the stacks begin. I love historical books and books set in the present or not so...

    Alice Hoffman

Practical Magic was the only book of hers that I've liked. I didn't care for the movie. I just couldn't get through Seventh Heaven. Maybe it gets better again in the last third but I never got there. Sorry! Let me know how it turns out.

    Hello!

It's now my 2nd favorite of his books, "Lamb" being the first. I've read all of his books and those two along with "Practical Demon Keeping" are the best I think.

    Helen Fielding: Bridget Jones's Diary

I loved this book and read it before I saw the movie. It was a perfect tribute to what it's like to be 20 something, unmarried and trying desperately to be taken seriously in the working world. I remember those days well!

    Hello!

I can't really say for sure. Honestly I've been all over lately! I just read Christopher Moore's "Dirty Job" and I just started "Mary, Queen of France" by Jean Plaidy. My next book to read is the 4th book in Jim Butcher's "Dresden Files." I lean towards Paranormal, light fantasy and "Chick Lit"...
