I read The Woman Who Walked Into Doors - Roddy Doyle in a day, yesterday to be precise :p
I read that recently. Not in a day though.

Only books I've read in one day have been:
The Penelopiad (and not even in one sitting!)
The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing
The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides (the first time I read it)
Animal Farm by George Orwell
A few of Ibsen's and Willy Russell's plays.
Notes From a Small Island, Neither Here Nor There, Notes From a Big Country and several others of Bryson's.

All of which are short.

I read book 11 of the wheel of time in one day, and i also read the 5th Harry Potter in one sitting as well. I seem to be reading a lot of books in one sitting recently
The Heart Of Darkness-Joseph Conrad
The Poor Mouth-Flann O'Brien
Animal Farm-George Orwell
9 Stories-J.D. Salinger
The Door Of Perception-Aldous Huxley
I seem to be going through a feast of reading after a relative famine, still room left for a few more though!!

Lives of the Monster Dogs

Lives of the Monster Dogs- Bakis

And I'd recommend this one to anybody. Great read!
