Gattaca reminds me of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.

They deal with many of the same issues, but I didn't like Brave New World so much as a story. I thought the characters weren't rounded enough for me to identify with them or even recognise them as human (but maybe that was the point).

Event Horizon - Dark SF horror. Delicious scary images.

I was unaware this was horror when a friend took me to see it...I just thought it was sci-fi. I HATE horror films and had my eyes closed and ears covered through most of the movie.


Favorite sci-fi films...considering I don't watch many films, the list is short.
