Books That Grab You By The Throat

I guess I'll put in another vote for Intensity by Koontz. That was as close to being grabbed by the throat as a book has made me feel. Although there were a couple parts of Crime and Punishment that got my heart pounding. I really need to get myself a copy of Blindess!
 
The Road by McCarthy and more recently American Pastoral by Roth. Both, but especially the first one didn't let go till the end, I felt almost out of breath upon finishing.
