Buddy Lists

I've been using the forum for a while and never really bothered with the "Buddy List" option. It's mostly been because I don't know what the heck it does. I tried adding a couple people to mine today to see if it did anything, and as far as I can see, it didn't. I'm sure there must be something I'm missing here.

So, what the heck is the Buddy List for?

It just lets you know which of your buddies are online (adds a + by their name) - as if you couldn't just look at the Who's Online section to find out.

OK. I just added you on there and I see it now, down at the Active Users section. That's honestly kind of stupid. I thought it was some kind of mystical secret that I didn't understand.
